October 17-19th, 2008 at the Northfork Property
Anderson Civil War Days
After the success of last year, plans have already begun for ACWD 2008.   Instead of continuing in the
park, we have acquired the use of the Northfork property near Happy Valley (Olinda), just a few miles to
the west of Anderson.  This enables use to use the 3,000 acres or land and get a chance to show you
more authentic battle scenarios.  We have been given permission to use the land until the housing
development is started, giving us an event site for the next few years.  Student Day will take place on
Friday the 17th as students from the surrounding schools will tour the event site in private instruction.
We had an outstanding response last year from both public and home schoolers and we plan to have
as many back again as we can.  The 18th and 19th will be our typical weekend event, with activities,
presentations, and battles throughout the day.  Since our Veteran's Day theme went so well last year, we
have decide to keep with it, adding more activities and sights for the public.  Between these battles will
be skits in the camps, presentations near the battle field, and a multitude of things to see and do.

Come join the members of the Reenactors of the American Civil War (RACW) and our guests as we
celebrate the sacrifices and loyalty of the men and women who fought in America's Bloodiest War.  We
hope to have a tremendous turn out and hope Mother Nature will cooperate.  There is no better way to
experience something than to see it in person and reenactments are the best way to do that.  See you at
the event!
