Attending C.W. Reenactments is the best way to learn about history, learning from people who
know the 1860's as intimately as those that lived there.  We have dedicated this page to all
those that have taken on this noble hobby and to share information on how to join our ranks.

Civil War Reenacting and the Like!
About the RACW and Reenacting: The RACW is a non-profit reenacting club centered around the
Northstate area.  It is an opportunity to remember our fallen ancestors, the cost of keeping this nation
free, and the individuals that paid the ultimate price for that ideal.  We offer the chance to see the
camps, speak with the people, learn the human side of the Civil War.  We do not portray slavery, nor
label any side as "the bad guys."  We allow the public to hear the stories and make up their own
minds.  Recruits are always welcome to both sides and civilians (men and women) are always
needed.

We do not come to honor war, having many veterans in our ranks, but to teach history as it really was
so that we never repeat it again.  Our military "alliances" are no reflection on the individuals' true
beliefs, Union or Confederate. In the Confederate camps, I have yet to find one person that really
believes in slavery and separating the country.  In fact, many would die before they allowed that to
happen.  Likewise in the Union brigade.  Come to these events with an open mind and you will get
the most out of the experience.
